Hannah and Rodney

On Sunday we went down to meet Hannah and Rodney in Windsor. They get married in Kettering later in the year, but it was a nice change to go down to Windsor to meet up with them (okay, I also had the incentive of catching up with family down there and swapping belated birthday pressies!!).

It was another gloriously sunny day and, not surprisingly, Windsor was full of tourists, all toting cameras. We didn't look out of place!!

We started out in the station, before wandering down towards the river.

Here are some early favourites:

At the station quite a few tourists were taking pictures in and around the red phone box. If you can't beat them, join them...

Stephanie and Jon

Stephanie and Jon's wedding is getting nearer! They get married in August at The Tythe Barn, Launton, near Bicester.

I photographed them early last year shortly after we had been booked for their wedding photography, and met up with them again the other weekend to go through their latest plans and take some more portraits.

Last year it was urban alleyways in town, this time we had a lovely sunny afternoon in the grounds of Kelmarsh Hall:

Looking forward to seeing you in August!

Katie and Aird

Like a number of recent couples, Katie and Aird have booked us to photograph their wedding next year.

Will all our wedding couples we like to hold a pre-wedding portrait session and, if time allows, possibly two. For couples booking us a year ahead, like Katie and Aird, we schedule a portrait session shortly after their booking is confirmed and then plan to hold another one nearer to their wedding date. This helps to break the ice and get us used to working together in advance of their wedding day. The only drawback is that they get to hear most of my best lines before their wedding!

Here are some of the early favourites from Katie and Aird's first session at East Carlton Park last weekend:

And, we hadn't discussed it beforehand, but as soon as I said 'piggy-back'...

I shall look forward to catching up with them shortly to go through the images and, Aird, fingers crossed for both our football teams!

Helen and Ben - part II

It's just over five weeks to Helen and Ben's wedding at Halstead House, and I had a final catch up with them today prior to seeing them on their big day

They've got one or two unusual elements planned which I'm sure will help to make thier wedding a fabulous, fun, day - but I'm not going to let the cat out of the bag here!

And, like some of my other recent sessions, Helen is a forthcoming bride with an imminent birthday. So a very happy birthday for 22nd, Helen, and I hope that next weekend, especially Sunday, goes well.

Minatures from a Devon garden

A few days R&R over Easter, visiting my father and step mother in Devon.

Cameras, of course, came with me but rather than take any photos of people I was crawling round their garden on my stomach photographing some close ups of garden detail. Most unlike me because, apart from 'shooting' Mr Bojangles, the beagle, the other week my passion is to photograph people.

Anyway, I thought that some minatures of the garden would make a bit of a change, although I'm not a gardener and can't tell one end of a flower from another - unless a bride is holding the bouquet upside down!

Here are some of my favourites:

This, I'm reliably informed:

will open out like this (okay, I know what a daisy looks like):

Back to people later in the week!

Meet Mr Bojangles

It was a lovely morning this morning and it was an early start to go and photograph Mr Bojangles, the beagle, in the park in Kettering for Lindsey and Tony.

Here are some early favourites:

Sometimes, when there isn't a tree available, you've just got to wait your turn...

I guess you could say this was a bit of a 'pawtrait' session!

Caroline and Darren

It was Caroline and Darren's pre-wedding session yesterday and I met up with them at, of all places (!), Leicester City's Walkers Stadium. Considering our respective football teams look to be heading in opposite directions out of division two (as I'm a Brighton and Hove Albion fan) it was a big ask to meet there! Joking aside, it made a great location for some portraits.

Here are some of the images, starting around the outside of the stadium and then after we had wandered a bit further alongside the nearby the canal:

Their wedding is in August at the beautiful Noseley Hall.

Lucie and Chris - part II

I photographed Lucie and Chris last summer and their wedding is now less than three months away (!). We met up for a second session at their wedding venue, the fabulous Rockingham Castle, and to catch up on their wedding plans.

Here are some of the images:

We're looking forward to a lovely day like today - but maybe a bit warmer (!) - for your wedding...

Ben and Jessica

Today I went to photograph Ben and Jessica.

I'd photographed Jessica several years ago and since then she's got a little brother, Ben, who was one at the end of January. The aim was to get some images of Ben at a similar age to the age Jessica was when I first photographed her, but today was a special day for Jessica as she was 4 today

Here's the birthday girl:

And a few of her little brother:

And the birthday girl again, this time with Mum, Dad and Ben in the background:

Happy birthday, Jessica! I hope you have a fabulous party tomorrow!!

Gurj and James

Today it was over to see Gurj and James who get married in July at Harpole, Northamptonshire.

We 'broke the ice' with some portraits around Pitsford Reservoir:

And extra celebrations as today is Gurj's birthday, so here's the birthday girl who, can you believe it (!), wasn't keen on being photographed to start with...

Happy birthday, Gurj!
