Lisa and Tristan

Lisa and Tristan get married in December at Noseley Hall , a fabulous setting for a winter wedding!

For their pre-wedding portrait session yesterday we went to Bradgate Park. Here are a few favourites:

Mary and Robin's Golden Wedding anniversary

Many congratulations to Mary and Robin who celebrate their golden wedding anniversary today.

They met up with around 100 friends and family, including their eight children and many grandchildren, at the weekend to celebrate a fabulous fifty years of married life.

Here they are with their chidren:

Many, many congratulations to you both!

Lisa and Paul

What a glorious day today has been, certainly compared to yesterday when no sooner had I asked everybody to go outside for a group photo it started hailing!

No such challenges this morning when I met up with Lisa and Paul for a pre wedding portrait session at East Carlton Park - just for a change!!

Here are some of the images:

Email problems - update

Just a quick update to let everybody know that I can now send and receive emails (Yay!).

The problems won't be fully resolved until next week, but I do now have the ability to communicate with the outside world!!

There are still a few emails that I believe I have lost and haven't been able to restore. If you have contacted me recently and not had a reply and are able to resend your mail I would be grateful, and apologise for any inconvenience.

Technology!

Email problems

Don't you just love technology. And we're so dependent on it these days!

I've been plagued by emails problems for the last few days, not being able to send or receive emails, plus a number of emails in my inbox have 'disappeared'.

If you've tried to contact me in the last few days and haven't had a response, I'm not ignoring you or being rude, I'm just not able to see your email yet.

Please bear with me. If you're able to re-send your email I should be able to pick it up when the issues are resolved, hopefully (?), soon.

If you need to contact me urgently, please call me on 01858-461770.

Debbie and Neil

Another pre-wedding portrait session when I caught up with Debbie and Neil.

They don't get married until next year, but we've just held their first portrait session - to 'break the ice' and get to know each other - and will follow up with another one nearer to their wedding date.
We started indoors(ish) and then, as it was such a glorious day. went over for a wander around East Carlton Park.

Down the 'Avenues and alleyways' with Ruth and Jimmy

That shows my age, a Tony Christie song title!

Ruth and Jimmy are getting married at St Peter's Church in Ashby Parva in the summer, and are holding their reception nearby at Ullesthorpe Court.

They're probably too young to remember that song title, but they came down from their home in Durham a few days ago and we met up to go through their wedding plans and hold a pre-wedding portrait session down the 'avenues and alleyways' of Market Harborough, trying our best to avoid too much interest from the shoppers in the High Street!

Here are a few of the images:

We're looking forward to seeing you in the summer!

Rachel and Robin

I caught up with Rachel and Robin the other day for a pre-wedding portrait session.

We met at the fabulous Coombe Abbey where they're getting married later in the year. After a good look around with Katie, the wedding co-ordinator, we went out into the park for some photos.

Here's a little taster of their images:

Rachel and Robin, you've picked a great venue which is going to be a fabulous setting for your wedding!

Top secret location!

Those of you that know me will know that I'm slightly (!) anti white background, and love looking for locations where there are great colours and textures to use as backgrounds.

Well, last week a friend and I went to recce a potential new location, a derelict factory which I hoped would make an interesting location for some portrait sessions or even a trash the dress session.

Having seen it, there is certainly scope! Rather than show you a wider view because, hopefully, it will appear once we've done a shoot or two there, I'm posting some of the glorious details that I shot there.

And my kind of door, with flakey paint to die for(!):

I can't wait to shoot there!

Blush, blush, blush, blush, blush ...

For along time I was reluctant to post testimonials on the website; after all, who has ever seen a bad testimonial? But then I came round to thinking that I should share what people have been saying, particularly when it’s a blushing, ‘Aw, shucks’, kind of testimonial that David and Debbie kindly gave us after photographing their wedding last year.

They were let down at very short notice by the photographer that they had booked a year previously (can you believe it!), we happened to be available on their wedding date, and from booking to their wedding was only a matter of three or four weeks. This included a pre-wedding portrait shoot and a recce of the church and reception venue on the night that we met and they booked!

These are the kind words that they wrote afterwards:

"Nigel, our knight in shining armour …

When our ‘other’ photographer quit on us with 4 weeks to go before the big day we were worried. Very worried!

In the middle of sorting flowers, cars, churches and dresses, together with a living room looking like a bad day at Blue Peter with half made wedding favours, how lucky we were to find you – shoehorning us in at late notice. You took a huge weight off our minds and your Herculean efforts didn’t go unnoticed. We can actually remember telling you to go because you’d been there too long – crazy man!

The photos are perfect so the album was always going to be a stunner. You nearly falling off a wall to get everyone in the group photo will stick in our minds. We didn’t appreciate at the start the effort you’d put in post-wedding on the album.

The result is everything we wanted. Thanks for everything."

David and Debbie Webster

David and Debbie - thank you, thank you, thank you. I think I even remember blushing when I brought your wedding album round and you wrote those kind words.

Your wedding was great fun, and it was our pleasure to be there and to capture your big day for you.

Faces of Hope

I was recently introduced to The Hope Foundation for Cancer Research, a local charity that raises funds for research into the causes and treatment of cancer in Leicestershire and Rutland, when I met with Wendi and Barbara to discuss fundraising through a spring/summer portrait promotion.

Full details of the promotion will be appearing in their Spring newsletter which is due to be published in April.

On Saturday I again met up with Wendi and Barbara to take some portraits of some of their young volunteers; young people who have commendably given their time to help support the charity in it’s range of activities.

We met up in Leicester and took portraits of Hannah, Henry, Ami, Nicky and Lucy alongside the canal.

If you would like to get involved in helping the charity in any way I’m sure that they would be delighted to hear from you.

They can be contacted on 0116 270 0101, or you can visit their website.
