The Florence connection - part 2
My week in Florence certainly lived up to expectations. The workshop with Jerry Ghionis was incredible and I’m already putting into practice some of what I learnt. Jerry's energy was amazing and the workshop went on late into the night most days. There were some great photographers on the workshop too and I look forward to keeping in touch with some of the new friends I made.
I flew out a couple of days before the start of the workshop to have a look at Florence over the weekend. These are a few of the images:
One of the statues in the Boboli Gardens (with a bit of added texture):
Glorious blue skies around the Duomo:
Not such a colourful sky behind the Ponte Vecchio:
And a few images from a colourful pageant in Piazza Della Signoria on the Saturday afternoon:

The Florence connection
Another recent shoot was with Louise and her team at Queens Flowers and Gifts in Kibworth where we wanted to try and capture something a little different with a bit of movement and action.
This session followed a shoot a few days earlier at Boboli Restaurant in Kibworth, which involved ourselves and Queens plus some other like minded Kibworth businesses, Minarik Hair and Beauty, Wedding Belles, and The Ivory Card Company all working together to provide some of the key elements for a wedding day.
It was a hectic few hours, with a bride, a couple of couples, some prom girls, and a few extras press-ganged into being 'guests'.
And the connection? I'm off to Florence at the end of the week for a workshop with one of the world's top wedding photographers, Jerry Ghionis - and I can't wait! And I'm planning to spend some time getting some images around Florence as well, particularly the Boboli Gardens.
Watch out for updates on this blog when I'm back.
