Today was playtime, and I joined three other photographers at Sywell Country Park near Northampton for a Trash the Dress (TTD) session with the lovely Jess.
If you've never heard of TTD it's a fun shoot, often held a few weeks or months after the wedding, where the bride gets the chance to put on her wedding dress again and she's not too precious about it or worried about getting it a little dirty... The dress isn't necessarily 'trashed' but it's a chance to take some images in an environment far removed from the actual wedding day.
Today's weather was suitably horrible, wet and grey, which just seemed to add to the mood of the shoot.
Here's a selection of the images:
Many, many thanks to Jess for going above and beyond the call of duty, and to Mark Betts for organising.
If any brides fancy a similar session please get in touch.

Angela and Wayne are married!
Angela and Wayne were married on Friday at St Phillip and St James Church in Ratby. After a lovely ceremony their reception followed at Sketchley Grange Hotel.
It was a lovely, relaxed, small and intimate wedding, with a little surprise for Wayne during best man Shaun's speech (we won't let on!).
Here's a little taster of the day:
And we just loved the decoration from the cake:
Congratulations Angela and Wayne, and thanks for letting us capture your special day!

Lucy and Paul are married!
Lucy and Paul had a very musical wedding in Leicester on Saturday. They had a band playing all the hymns at their church, Holy Trinity, with a jazz band followed by a disco at the reception at Colourworks restuarant. And there was a best boy as well as a best man!
Here are a few favourites that hopefully Lucy and Paul might see either before they go away to their secret destination (so secret, even Lucy didn't know where she was going), or when they are there:
And Jamie, the best boy, about to deliver his speech (!):
We hope you both have a fantastic honeymoon in Skeg... (whoops, mustn't let the cat out of the bag!), and a long and happy married life together.

Mollie and Libby
I had a lovely shoot this morning with Mollie and Libby, fresh back from their family holiday in Italy, but minus a few teeth!!
We photographed in and around their home, making the most of the lovely soft light coming indoors, and then outside in the garden.
I hope you both enjoyed it and Mum and Dad like the results.

Saydie
Today I met up with Leah to photograph her lovely daughter Saydie. She's a real character and she's not yet two years old!
We went to Little Bowden Park for a wander round, and I worked out that I first photographed Leah almost 9 years ago, in the days of film!
Here are some favourites:
I love this cheeky little grin:
And here's my favourite favourite (if that's allowed!), 'the world looks very big from here!':
I hope you emptied all the daisies out of your pocket, Saydie!

Hothorpe Hall
At the beginning of last week I was at Horthorpe Hall, attending a fabulous workshop by Trevor and Faye Yerbury. It was all about their Yerbury Confidential brand and timely as we move towards the launch of our new brand which will, hopefully, be revealed in the next couple of weeks.
Here's an image of Amanda from the workshop:

I was back at Hothorpe at the beginning of this week to photograph some of their rooms. One which I hadn't seen before was the magnificent Victorian chapel. Here are a couple of images:
So following Kerry and Sam's wedding reception I've been visiting Horthorpe quite a bit recently. I could get used to working at such a superb venue!

Marbeth and Les
I was delighted to photograph Marbeth and Les recently. We had a lovely summer's evening and took a number of pictures indoors followed by some outside in their beautiful garden, which made a wonderful backdrop.

Here's to you, Mrs Robinson
It's was a family affair on Monday as it was my little sister's wedding when she married Dick, at The Manor Hotel in Datchet, and became Mrs Robinson (cue Simon and Garfunkel!). It was a small, intimate wedding for immediate family followed by a lovely meal.
We managed to get a few photos of the happy couple, and don't they look happy!
It was a fab day and we hope you enjoyed it as much as it looks like you did!

Lucy and Paul
Today I met up with Lucy and Paul who are getting married later in the month. We met at their reception venue, Colourworks restaurant in Leicester, to go through the detail and timings of their big day.
It was an opportunity to check out Colourworks, complete with it's roof terrace, and the Castle Gardens opposite the restaurant where we're planning on taking some of the photos. There are also lots of great locations around for some images a lilttle different from the norm.
All of the following were taken within a few minutes walk of the restaurant.
I look forward to seeing you again on your big day!

Kristina and Chris are married!
Yesterday it was over to the Cotswolds to photograph the wedding of Kristina and Chris. They got married at the church of St Peter and St Paul in Long Compton, a beautiful church, renowned for it's thatched lych gate, followed by their reception at the superb Manor House Hotel in the picturesque town of Moreton in Marsh.
The rain stopped, the sun came out, and everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves. There were no nerves about the speeches, which were all entertaining and especially amusing from Nick, Kristina's father, and Phil, the best man. Okay, Chris, yours wasn't bad either!
Congratulations to you both, and here's a sneak peak at some early favourites:
