Bridal shoot at Ladywood

Ladywood is a former hunting lodge near Oakham in Rutland and, with it's extensive grounds and elegant interior, is a superb location for exclusive weddings and events.

Hannah, of Hand Maid Wedding and Events, provides a bespoke wedding and events planning service and looks after all of the weddings at Ladywood.

Yesterday we all battled through the snowly lanes as I met up with Hannah, Carole and Debbie from Wedding Belles (Kibworth) - who provided the gorgeous wedding gowns - and Adele and Ed for a bridal shoot.

Adele modelled two lovely wedding gowns, the first an 'Ellis Bridals' gown and the second the stunning 'Rose' by 'Maureen Myring Kesterton'. Ed's outfit was provided by Christopher Scotney, Leicester.

Bridal shoot at Kettering Park Hotel

After the shoot with Lucy at Harrowden Hall the week before last this Sunday saw a bridal shoot at Kettering Park Hotel. Jess and Rob were the models, with make up expertly applied by Natalie Godefroy.

With the hotel hosting a bridal showcase later in the month, on 22 February, the aim was to get some fresh new images, and it provided an ideal opportunity to try out various locations in the hotel without the time constraints that there can be with a real wedding. It also gave me the ideal opportunity to have a play with my recently acquired video light.

I'm not sure that Jess and Rob quite realised what they'd let themselves in for (!), but they did a great job.

Lucy at Harrowden Hall

After attending the SWPP (Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers) annual convention in London, which I went down to last Thursday and came back from late on Sunday, I spent a few days catching up before getting back behind a camera today when I went to Harrowden Hall with fellow photographer Carole Kelly for a bridal shoot with the lovely Lucy.

I haven't worked at Harrowden Hall before and when Carole asked me to come to a shoot at the golf club I had visions of a club house surrounded by the golf course. How wrong could I have been! Harrowden Hall turned out to be a magnificent 18th century hall and a location that gave plenty of variety inside and out.

Lucy was a natural, and the session was great fun.
